Coreban Vibe 8 fters

Coreban Australia was proud to take delivery of the Pure Coreban Vibe 8 footer last weekend for shop team rider Hayden Stintman. Haydo had previously owned and loved his Coreban 8'11 Lithium but wanted to try something new this coming season and for a local surf comp. He
Coreban Vibe 8' lineup was then on the search for a performance oriented SUP in the sub 9′ length, mostly looking at boards in the mid 8′ range from different manufacturers. The minute he saw the first picture of the Vibe online he knew he had found his board and placed the order! Already familiar with the line and its build quality Haydo was stoked to get on the list for another Coreban.

Being the Noosa areas authorized Coreban dealer Stand Up Paddle Surf Australia jumped on the order. Coreban's Woogie Marsh was able to hand deliver the Vibe 8′ in Pure construction to a smiling Haydo and make his dreams of short high performance SUP come true!

At 6’4″ and 105 Hadyo is a pretty tall guy. The 130.9 liters of volume and 29″ width of the Vibe was easily able to float his lanky frame and I’ll be the first to say that his stand up surfing performance has jumped up a couple levels with the Vibe in his quiver.

With a string of a couple of small days of surf in the up to chest high range at Peregian Beach last weekend into the start of the week, Haydo was able to get the Vibe out and get a feel for her. What I witnessed being in the water with him on the weekend at Peregian Beach in Sunny Coast was a board that fit perfectly in the waves.

The surf was perfect Open Beach Peregian A Frames light winds close to glassy conditions. The 8′ Vibe with it’s nice rail outline and super surfy rocker fit right into waves and I saw Haydo flying down the line. The Vibe fit right in the pocket and he was pumping that board down the line like a shortboard. The best part was that Haydo wasn’t just rebounding off oncoming white water sections, he was hitting them higher and harder then I had ever seen him do on any other SUP! With his speed in the pocket and the bottom/outline of the Vibe he was able to get off a bottom turn and hit the oncoming sections getting his little 8′ pocket rocket pretty vert on his mini lip smacks.

The Vibe that Haydo has is beautiful in the Pure construction with the Australian Pine deck outlined by white rails and bottom. The dimensions are 8′ by 29″ wide by 4.5″ thick with 130.9 liters of volume. In my opinion Coreban has a winner on their hands for above average Jo to get on a stand up in the 8 to 9 foot range. It will probably also work pretty well as a kids SUP or for smaller women. With five boxes the board is versatile and can be ridden as a tri, 2+1, or quad. Coreban has definitely come up with a great rocker line and it shows in the trio of the 10′ Icon, the 9′ Fusion, and the 8′ Vibe.
